Jesus gathered with people from all different walks of life. Jesus welcomed everyone regardless of what they have done or where they have been. The bottom line is that Jesus welcomed everyone! PUMC youth invite everyone to come and share life together. We are an open and safe group to share, learn, and grow into strong adults. We would love to walk with you on your life journey!
Who We Are
We are a group of seven adult leaders and 20-30 youth that meet on a weekly basis to learn and grow together. We believe in the importance of growing as disciples of Christ through engaging discussions, activities, worship, service, and interpreting scripture, and we have fun while living the disciple’s life. We strive for an open environment that is welcoming to all and appreciate that we all come from diverse backgrounds.
The youth at Plainfield UMC are a family in Christ. Youth and adults strive to hold each other accountable and grow together as disciples. If you have further questions about youth ministries and related activities, please email Associate Pastor Chris Walters or call him at the church office 815-436-9651 x13.

TESTIMONIES-
“Being part of the youth group gives you an extended family! I have found so many good friends and connected well with the adult leaders, that the youth ministry of PUMC is an experience that will always be cherished. I have enjoyed all the great memories and friendships while growing with Christ. All the trips and events truly make you grateful for everything you have. Mission trips are the best. Not only do you get to help people, but you get to bond with everyone involved and escape home for awhile. All the discussions we have had in youth and on mission have helped me grow. You learn more than you think. It’s a fun environment to learn about Christ and to know everyone around you is there to do the same.”
“Youth group at PUMC retained some of my sanity; it was my escape from anything else going on in my life. Being part of the youth group is a drama-free experience and it’s incredibly hard to find a place like that. Also, my best friends have come from that youth-group. I wouldn’t be who I am without them. I loved having an influence on what was going on around me, it gave me such a great feeling and it kept my self-esteem from going away all together. I made a difference in everything I was apart of and that’s all I have ever wanted to do in my life.”
