Community Hunger Relief through Food Pantries

Our congregation currently supports two local food pantries.

The Plainfield Interfaith Food Pantry  was founded in 1990 to provide assistance after the Plainfield area was devastated by a tornado. Today, they continue to provide food and other basic household items (diapers, toilet paper, school supplies, etc.) to local families and individuals who cannot otherwise afford them. To donate to this pantry, you may drop off items in the collection bins located in the first floor stairwell at PUMC.

The Ridgewood United Community Pantry is a joint ministry of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Joliet, the Joliet Cluster of United Methodist Churches, along with community support. Open every week on Wednesdays from 1-3pm, it serves needy people in the 60532 and 60533 zip codes. PUMC takes a team of volunteer on the 4th Wednesday of each month to set up and serve clients. We also collect monetary, food, and supply donations throughout the year. If you would like to donate, please drop off items in the collection bins located in the first floor stairwell at PUMC. Check can be sent to the church office. Please make them out to “Ridegewood United Community Pantry.”
